Have you ever met a celebrity? It’s weird. It’s like, keep my cool and yet I’m also like wow you’re a real person, but are you actually, do you like spaghetti, what’s your favorite color, will you let me take a picture with you so I can send to my mom, what’s your house like. Well, we got to welcome Dizzy Reed of Guns N' Roses (yes, that Guns N’ Roses!) to the Hellbender Plant last Friday.
Dizzy has been the keyboardist for Guns N' Roses since 1990, making him the longest-serving member of the band aside from Axl Rose himself. He joined during the recording of their "Use Your Illusion" albums and has remained with the band through all their lineup changes over the decades.
We’re pressing his solo album, “Rock N’ Roll Chose Me” and he came into see some of the vinyl making process. Surprisingly, he had never even stepped foot into a record pressing plant before! One of the highlights of Dizzy's visit was watching him connect with our resident synth wizard, BusCrates. The two were talking in a language I didn’t totally understand, but it was a treat to see them geek out over synths.
Dizzy was an extremely down to earth, just effortlessly cool guy. He seemed just as interested in what we’re doing at the plant as we were in him. Be sure to grab his record when it’s out. It was an honor to press.
