Get to know Janeka!

Get to know your vinyl makers! This is Janeka, and while her title is Production and Community Liaison, she is so much more. Janeka does it all. If you’ve ever called the plant, you were probably talking to Janeka. If you’ve emailed us with a question, Janeka probably emailed you back. If you were buying your new record, you were probably in touch with Janeka. If you’ve gone to one of our Hellbender Presents, Janeka was there helping with setup. She’s a huge asset to the team, and we’re grateful to have her here!

And while she spends a lot of time at Hellbender, she also has a life! Get to know more about Janeka below.

Q. What music do you like listening to?

A. I like everything. Except for country. I’ve been listening to this artist called Bad Omens a lot that I love.

Q. What’s your favorite restaurant here in PGH?

A. This Brazilian place called Texas de Brazil.

Q. How long have you been involved in the music industry?

A. I’ve been in the industry in one way or another since I was 16. I’ve managed bands, sold merch, booked bands, tour managed - I’ve done it all.

Q. What’s your favorite thing about working at Hellbender?

A. I love all the unique projects we get in, and the bands we work with. I love being able to give tours. Everyone has a story to tell, so I love getting to hear about them.

Janeka’s story doesn’t stop here—it’s only just beginning. Outside Hellbender, she’s also a vinyl enthusiast, hunting for rare pressings and deep-cut gems to add to her personal collection. She recently started a small community radio show spotlighting local artists and emerging talent, bringing her ear for fresh music to even more listeners. Passionate about mentorship, Janeka regularly volunteers at youth music programs, helping budding audio engineers discover the joy of analog warmth and sonic detail. Her energy, curiosity, and warmth make her a cornerstone of our team—and we can’t wait to see where her creativity leads next.
