Come Take a Tour of Our Vinyl Record Factory
We are one of only a handful of vinyl record manufacturing plants operating in the United States, and we're right here in Pittsburgh. We press records for independent artists, labels, and everyone in between, and we open our doors to the public so you can see exactly how it's done. If you've ever been curious about what goes into making a vinyl record, our factory tours give you an up-close, hands-on look at the entire process from start to finish.
At a time when most music is a digital file, we're doing something almost totally opposite - making physical objects that carry sound. Vinyl manufacturing never fully died, but it came close. When Hellbender Vinyl opened its doors in 2023, we did so knowing the demand was there. Vinyl sales have been booming for nearly two decades, but also knowing that launching a pressing plant from the ground up takes serious commitment to the craft. We built this place because Pittsburgh deserved it, and because the music world needed more of it.
When you walk through our doors for a tour, you're stepping into something that most people have never seen and most cities will never have. Touring Hellbender Vinyl isn't just about watching us work - it might just inspire you to make a record of your own! We offer custom vinyl pressing for independent artists, bands, labels, and anyone with audio they want immortalized in wax.
If you've ever Googled "custom vinyl pressing near me" or "vinyl record manufacturing Pittsburgh," you've found your answer. We're local, we're hands-on, and we treat every custom order - big or small - with the same care we put into everything that rolls off our floor. Ask about custom pressing on your tour, or get a quote directly on our website.
We offer tours on a regular basis, and we welcome music lovers, curious locals, school groups, and anyone who's ever looked at a record and wondered how it got that way. Space is limited - we're a working factory, not a theme park - so we keep our groups small and our tours personal.
Whether you're a lifelong vinyl devotee or someone who's never held a record in your life, you'll leave with a new understanding of what it takes to press sound into plastic, and why, in a world that could have gone entirely digital, some of us never stopped believing that the analog way was worth fighting for.
