Anthem Vinyl and Hellbender Vinyl Announce Deal

Anthem Vinyl and Hellbender Vinyl have announced a new transatlantic partnership designed to give artists and record labels a simpler way to manufacture and fulfil vinyl across Europe and the US, while maintaining a single supplier relationship.
The principle is simple: one supplier, local production, closer to the customer.
For a UK or European artist or label selling into the US, American stock can be manufactured and fulfilled through Hellbender, while European stock is produced and fulfilled through Anthem in Ireland. For US artists and labels targeting audiences across the UK and Europe, the model works in reverse.
The key difference is that artists and labels do not need to manage separate manufacturing relationships in each territory. Anthem and Hellbender work together to provide access to local production and fulfilment while giving the client a single point of contact for the overall vinyl campaign.
Rather than manufacturing one large international allocation in a single territory and then shipping finished records across the Atlantic, production can be planned around where the records will ultimately be sold.
That can help reduce international freight and shipping costs, shorten delivery routes and minimise the logistical complications associated with moving large quantities of finished vinyl between continents.
It also gives artists and labels greater flexibility when managing direct-to-consumer campaigns. Existing online stores can continue to be used, while fulfilment can take place closer to the customer through the appropriate regional facility.

The partnership is particularly suited to independent labels and artists building audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.
A European release with a US audience can be divided between the two territories, with US stock produced and fulfilled locally through Hellbender and European stock handled by Anthem. The same approach is available to US artists and labels developing their European market.
This removes the need to treat international vinyl distribution as one large shipment from one pressing plant. Instead, production can be planned according to the markets being served.
For artists and labels, the result is a more straightforward supply chain without having to establish and manage separate production relationships in different territories.
The model can also support touring artists. Regional production means stock can be positioned closer to the markets where an artist is performing, reducing the need to move large quantities of vinyl internationally as part of a tour.

If you have customers in Europe and the US, you can work with one supplier while production and fulfilment take place closer to those customers.”

The partnership will support album releases, singles, catalogue campaigns, reissues, box sets, special editions, direct-to-consumer campaigns and touring stock across Europe and North America.
There is also an environmental benefit to reducing the distance finished vinyl has to travel. Vinyl is a heavy physical product, and producing closer to the end market can reduce the amount of finished stock moving between continents and the freight associated with that movement.
For independent artists and labels, the proposition is straightforward: one supplier relationship with access to production and fulfilment on both sides of the Atlantic.
